Cats do not get coronary thrombosis (blockage of the coronary artieries
of the heart with faty deposits) in the same way as humans do.
The most common form of hear disease in cats is called cardiomyopathy and
is due to a gradual failure of the heart muscle itself.
It is also possible for cats to get cardiac arrhythmia, in which the electrical
impulses that control the heart are disturbed and it fails to best normally.
This can cause sudden death due to heart failure, so in some ways could be
described as a "heart attack".
