Use a flea comb when grooming your dog, because these parasites are too
small to be captured by an ordinary comb.
Pour some water into a disposable container, such as a yogurt container,
and tip any fleas that you catch into the water, so that they cannot escape.
A high-tech alternative is a stun comb that knocks the flea out and pauses
to allow you to remove the flea form the dog's coat.
External flea traps don't control fleas on your dog, but are intended to
catch any of the parasites that have hatched around the home and are seeking
a host.
