Dog food manufacturers have invested huge amounts in researching the dog's
nutritional requirements and putting then into palatable products. Both of
these foods will therefore meet your dog's nutritional needs.
Dry food is more convenient to use, but some dogs, especially the smaller
toy breeds, find it less appealing then canned food.
Loss of interest in dry food by an older dog may indicate a dental or kidney
problem and should be reported to your veterinarian.
At this stage in a dog's life, it may be necessary to switch to a specially
formulated diet.
One benefit of dry food is that it results in more compact stools for easier
cleanup.
