For me, I feed my GP two times a day, with a bowl of pellets and a few variety of veggies. If you see them eating quite fast, increase the serving and observe.

sydney gets timothy hay in the morning, as well as pellets mixed with a bit of vitakraft cavy feed. three tablespoons of the mix, and a big handful of timothy hay lasts her until the next day. she also gets veggies everyday. a bit of kangkong, chyesim, red or green pepper, butterhead lettuce or local lettuce, twice a day. no fruits.

btw do you have just one gp? because gp's who live alone may eat more due to boredom. also if you have a pretty young guinea pig they might need more nutrition. just play by ear lor...if you need to top up the food, just top it up. then you can estimate how big your feeding portions need to be.

If ur GP is fully grown i.e. > 6mths, then you can give 2 full tablespoons (Chinese soup spoon) of pellets once a day; If it's still young, give 3 tablespoons instead. Hay freeflow and veggies daily, but do not overfeed. U can give fruits once in a while but not citrus ones...apple, papaya, mango are the ones they like most...try to give green leafy vegetables to them and try to avoid cabbage, lettuce, onions and garlic. They love English parsley(a good tonic for the urinary system) very much also...Cabbage will cause colic (gas production in stomach and thus pain) and lettuce is too high in water content but low in nutritional value....hence not advisable. :)

Is the chinese soup spoon those that have a long handle and a shallow scoop at the end? Or those that the ban mien stalls and noodle soup stalls provide?

Sorry that my description is so bad. :P

It's those that u find in Chinese restaurants...those really solid kinds...not those disposable ones coz too shallow. Got it? :)
