Curly hair grooming for yr GPs ?

Remembered that jace Lau did a good demonstration on how to deal with long hair cavy grooming as a reference for us :) . just wondering ... are there anybody got a basic techniques of grooming the curly hair's carvy, is it the same grooming with long straight hair one ? :rolleyes:

the crest......is natural :)
it comes with the gp when born :)
almost any breed can have a crest
smooth coat...i have one 'plain' one & crested one

It's a "merino" Texel with a crest. ;) Nice cavy u have bro! merino and texel coat should be groom by hand rather than comb to maintain e curly effect.... hence it's much difficult to maintain than coronet and sheltie. :D

In australia all longhaired breeds have their hair wrapped - and the texels/alpacas/english merinos have their hair brushed out rather than being presented in ringlets.

In USA, the crinkle coated breeds are to be groomed by fingers, slowly parting the hair and combing out knots.

yes he's merino and i got four of them...wow...so much works on the curly hair to maintain...lolx. i just use "soft" brush grooming as a normal for long straight hair as well, the matted fur did not make me feel headache coz i groomed them almost every 3 days...dun find much of the problem..hmmm...but yet still got so much to learn how to cope it in the best way ..hey it was great event of sparing time with them, indeed depend on my mood ....hehe:)

HAHAHA Prodigy u bear to perm ur piggie's fur ah?? heehee.. i wonder how they will react though... might damage their skin doing all kinds of hair treatment. u know, i have ever read of polar bears getting their fur bleached in S'pore zoo.. cos their hair shaft are hollow, hence algae grew in them. The polar bears were green in S'pore.. poor thing right?

Hey, my volcano got the most difficult hair to cope it as he got the most curly...curly with only meduim long ones...so worry abt to groom him with his loud "wheek" voice.... :(

Okay roughly know... Anyone knows the bishi bashi game? Got three buttons, red, green and blue then got theres AFRO guys. You press the right tune then his hair getting bigger and bigger.... I always lose that round! Then his hair didnt grow. =x
