I'm taking care of my friend's rabbit as she has gone back to to visit her parents for CNY. Based on what I read, rabbits and pigs should not be kept together cos:

1) they eat different foods

2) rabbits will kick when alarmed, so pigs may get injured

3) rabbits have some bacteria which are harmless to themselves but are harmful to pigs

I do not have a problem with the first 2 reasons as the rabbit has his own cage and food. However, the 3rd reason worries me. I'm not sure how true it is as I know some of our members have rabbits and pigs.

Anyone know anything about this bacteria thing? I can't remember which website I read it from already...

wat i know is rabbits emit some kind of gas which is harmful/poisonous to gps.

since u r keeping the rabbits separately, there shld not be a problem as the gas wld hv dispersed.. the problem is only when u put both in the same enclosure then the gps wld inhale the gas immediately hence harmful to them. you can find more info at guinealynx.com - sorry i got no time to go hunt the exact location for u... (cos i surfing web secretly during work :p) :o

Haha... Its ok, thanks! Anyway, its just till my friend gets back on Tuesday, so I suppose it should not be much of a problem. Except cleaning cages. Just cleaned both cages today...
