is your pig eating? losing weight? gp's losing weight and not eating is always not a gd thing due to their high metabolism. they have to keep replenishing their bodies.

he eats now but i think he is getting lighter and that he doesnt have much strength for resistance. the injured part i will try and post up later. is just like there is some blood clotting at the nails there. but i m not sure if it is the only reason for his "sian sian" look. the vet i went up is at the holland village inside the pets lovers centre

Can also try other vets?
The 2 vets that I go to are Namly and Mt Pleasant. Namly is becos Dr Ling is good, but its by appt only. Dunno if they do emergencies? Most of our forum members go to Namly.
I go to Mt Pleasant when there are emergencies cos there are certain days when its 'walk-in' - no need appt. But for walk ins, u can't choose docs. Went to Mt Pleasant when my Cocoa fell and broke her teeth. She was seen by Dr Boon, who seemed quite good. If I'm not wrong, SPCA refers some cases to Mt Pleasant as well.
And yes, do try to post the pics. Some of our members may have seen this before.

if you dont think he's eating enough you might want to try getting the critical care from the vet.. poor piggy.. hope he gets well soon..

Hrmm seems that he might have hurt his leg severely, either very bad bruising or a broken bone. the pain is putting him off the usual activities like eating. U have to start syringe feeding critical care liao... or moisten ur pellets and make it into a mash and squirt directly into his mouth. See a vet ASAP.
Update us please.

i brought him to see a vet but the vet say no fracture of the legs, so just gave him antibiotics.

X ray done? i dun get why the vet would have given antibiotics.. unless there is an infection.. is there an open wound? Which is the vet u went to? not all vets are gd with pigs.
BTW, there was once my mum fell and had pretty severe bruising at her ribs. We suspected that she fractured her ribs becos of the pain. The first few x rays taken didn't show the fractures cos of the swelling and edema. Only a wk later did the 2nd set of x rays showed fractures in her 4th and 6th ribs. What i m trying to say is that u might wanna bring ur pig back to a vet again and to a gd one..
have u started on critical care? what is his current weight?

Both clinics are gd. But for the animal clinic u gotta ask for Dr Hsu. he is their in house small animals specialist. For Namly, ask for Dr Ling, but i think u gotta wait for a few days. she is quite pack.

Try givin your guinea pig vitamin C,Dr Ling recommended vitamin c name CEELIN for my GP when it is very weak last time ,used a syringe to feed your GP,everyday 1.0ml,see whether it gets better, mayb due to lack of vitamin C,but in the meantime oso try to see & check its injured area.CEELIN vitamin syrup u can buy in farmacy,i bought mine from NTUC UNITY farmacy.Hope your pig-pig get well soon..

KeKE:cutie: ,u can try them ceelin syrup 2,its affordable, but if u can afford EV..its gd too, haha:D Coz my piggy "mummy" oso nearly die when i bought her home coz due too lack of vitamin C(paisey coz i thought she can take rabbit pellets, but realised no vitamin c in it after she fell sick..luckily changed on time, saw dr ling on time, she managed to survive & got 5 babies in 2 pregnancy.:p ),she under-weight too, poor thg man, then the "daddy piggy" knew as if she is dying so upset too & move lesser..weird hor:confused: ,but when slowly she recover, the "daddy piggy" become active again,:cutie: :rainbow1:

Yah, they were so loving... For me maybe just sterilize one of the couple? Then they still can continue loving and cuddling each other. Hehe...
