can recommend a cooling park/garden to have GP outing cum picnic?

Hi all....
looking at so many piggy owners here,
im just thinking like to have a casual picnic
to let your piggies mingle & socialise with others.
It is also to meet the owners, to share tips, share funny stories, or anything non-GP related and stuff?

I think it would be fun, having picnic under the sun, grassy patch, sit on mat and eat sandwich..or tapao from nearby hawker centre haha. Then can get to see so many piggies sniffing each other's butts (hope nobody fight), and popcorn and wheek wheek..wow sure a noisy bunch. :apple:

But this is just an imagination of mine right now. It would be nice if it's come true :)

coz i think mostly gp owners are not too young, and not too old. i think all is about teenagers to young adults....not those 50 yrs old+ type...
so still can have common interest & in the same 'era'...coz if those 50s-60s, they talk about world war/japanese occupation while some of us haven even born yet.

hey, must warn u hor... bring along grids so u can have an area for the piggies to run, or else they'd become picnic for the cats & dogs :( Also, grid up an area means ur piggies won't run away and u wld hv a hard time catching it back! Must remember all these details... and prob more if anyone else can think of... with all guards then u & piggies wld hv a great day!

Was thinking it would be nice to have such pignics in Singapore. But really must depend on luck cos if too hot, pigs will run and hide in their shelters ( I think it would be a good idea to bring some boxes for them to hide). Also, read somewhere that piggies are scared of open skies. :rolleyes:

Yeah, I guess it'll be a good chance for Pebbles to display his alpha male status. I noticed something the other day. I sneezed loudly and all my guinea pigs ran for cover in their sleeping boxes. Only Pebbles stood on the top of his sleeping box and raised his head, as though sniffing for danger.

i think this wont work. my gp can jump out of the largest diaso grids. i'm not sure if the gps of others can do that. i really hv a hard time catching her each time. maybe someone know any taller grids?

anyway, i brought my gps out on picnic before. alas, they both very timid one, they just come out to have one look and then all day hide inside the carrier (with the back facing the entrance of the carrier!) only. so timid that i wanna faint. :faint:

maybe either cover the top so ur piggywont jump? or mybe it is too busy got so many pigs and forget he is a jumping piggy? -detective :D

and usually having alot of pigs, their curiousity is aroused .. so perhaps wont hide all day, since everypig will wanna sniff butts.

Below pic i think some see b4 lah...it was grooming outing...we take them out to meet each other, for a short while. Cute lo...some small, some big, and so colourful! That time Pupu is smallest :D but now i think other owners' piggies are smaller & younger.

eh but must be careful where we let our piggies run around...because in s'pore parks i think they do spray insecticide and do mosquito fogging. so if our pigs nibble the grass and consume all the chemically stuff then how?

im anxiously waiting for this picnic to take place. my recommendation is botanic gdn, huge sprawling area of even ground that we cld sit and chat.

since pets are allowed, expect to see huge leashed dogs being walk by their owner.

Wah i was busy over the wkend and u guys planned an outing without me!!

I have a garden too by the way.. heehee.. u will need shade cos ur pigs will overheat... thus i won't advise u guys to do it in an area without shelter. Bontanical gardens is fine with me..

Aiyoh u guys just dismantle ur C&C cage and bring ur grids along.. anyway just one will do. in that short period of time i doubt ur males pigs can do anything to the females cos other males will be watching..
