Why my dog drinks urine?

Hi all,

My dog drinks his own urine and my other dogs' urine. Any idea why & wat should i do to resolve this problem? I have heard dog eating his own feaces but not drinking urine. Yucks! There were a few times which i caught him in action but have scolded him on the spot but he still repeats it. And he's already 2 yrs plus. Help!!!! :bawling:

beats me, i don't know also. i just caught my dog awhile ago tasting her own shit. i just stood there looking and never say anything cos its the 1st time i saw and don't know what to do. i wonder if she got lick her own urine or not? but that i think maybe not cos she urine on the newspaper and never stay there long enough to even smell or lick it. :crazy:

thanks fruity. ever since young. AT first he drink my other dogs' urine. I saw him drinking while my other dog peeing. recently, i caught hold of him drinking his own urine. Sigh... his mouth stink! How....

Maybe your dog likes the taste. Some dogs have the weirdest tastebuds.

I suggest you ask your vet about this... :)

some dogs have the nature to drink from its own urine or poo is that it is not train not to, like at first my sis JRT eat its own shit, we train it by scolding it loudly "NO!!!" then spay its butt or mouth to let it know it is wrong to do that after a few weeks it already knew not to touch its own poo or pee, have to train :)
