Where Can i buy Chin or Adopt.

Seldom have Chins for adoption at SPCA but there is once in a blue moon..hahaks..SPCA usually kept their pets healthy and proper eating habits..so far never hear of any negative comment from them.

The most essential needs for a chinchilla in Singapore is the living temperature. Please bear in mind that Chins are not suitable to live in such humid and hot weather in Singapore, therefore, aircon is very important for chin.

You might hear from many chin owners here telling you that Chin do not need aircon. But in the end, the little fur ball will be suffering if you do not provide them with aircon.

You are planning to get a chin for pet. I will suggest you to give them 4 hours of aircon in the afternoon and then another 4 hours of aircon in the night time. Best is at the temperature of 21 to 23 degree celsius.

If you cannot afford to provide them with their most basic needs, then please think twice. Its a long term responsibility. Recently, a lot of people giving up their chins, Its better you can take them in rather than buy one.

Before adopting or buying, perhaps u can try looking after a chinchilla for a friend. Or get to know someone who owns a chinchilla and OJT with the person. Get to know the animal first. Reading gives us some knowledge. Working with them gives us much more. The same goes for other pets.

i think there are quite a number of people putting their chinchillas up for adoption but at a price... you can try looking around... the price is definitely better than getting one from pet's shop...
